PSALM 133
1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live
together in unity!
2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, running
down on the beard,
running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar
of his robes.
3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount
Zion.
For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life
forevermore.
Brothers and sisters who are living together in unity
represent the church of Jesus Christ. His final command at the Last Supper was for all of us to be one just as He and the Father are one
and to love each other and by this brotherly love, other's will know that we
are His followers. (John 13)
Beloved, let us love one another, for
love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored,
all rejoice together. (1 Corinthians 12:26)
Meaning of precious oil … it was used for anointing kings
and priests. Aaron (Moses' older brother) and Aaron's sons were the first high priests
anointed with oil after the Israelites had left Egypt. (Exodus 30). Oil was used for making things
'holy' in the temple, for cleansing and for healing (Exodus 40, James 5, Mark 6). In the
same manner, God's grace and blessings flow through Christ, the Head and the Cornerstone
of our church. The collar of the robes connects the head (Christ) to the body
(us). The blessings flow from Christ to the church, which is the Body of
Christ. In today’s world, we are
anointed and consecrated with the Holy Spirit.
The ‘dew of Hermon’ represents the gentle and peaceful
blessings from God that covers us and our church every single day. As members
of the living church of Jesus Christ, we are blessed forever as we share His
love with each other.
We must all agree with God and His Word.
Believing is not enough … even the demons believe in God. We must know that God
loves us and wants the best for us. As a church, we must trust God and agree
with everything that is written and inspired by God. If the Word of God says
that we are forgiven, that we are free from sin, that we must share His love
with others, that we are healed and the world but the enemy says otherwise, then
WE
MUST AGREE WITH GOD and disregard all opposing arguments. God is love … Jesus
is the way … Jesus is the truth … Jesus is the Life … Jesus is our salvation.
"Again, truly I tell you that if
two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them
by my Father in heaven. (Matthew
18:19)
“You are the church of the living God. As God has said, ‘I will
dwell in them, and walk with them; and I will be their God, and they shall be
my people’.” (2 Corinthians
6:16)
We need to
be united ... Agree with God and love each other.
