He has done it!

He has done it!

Jeremiah 11:18-20
18 Because the Lord revealed their plot to me, I knew it, for at that time he showed me what they were doing. 19 I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying, “Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.” 20 But you, Lord Almighty, who judge righteously and test the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have committed my cause.

Jeremiah teaches us that the LORD is present in our lives and He rules during times of blessing and during times of distress. There will be times when those who are faithful will need to stand up in opposition to those who are protecting the status quo.

At times, speaking 'the truth' to those in charge will bring about strong resistance and opposition. Jeremiah reminds us that although there may be plans to harm those who proclaim the truth, ultimately, it is God's will that prevails. Reaching out to God in prayer for protection provides believers with access to God's ultimate power and authority.
Jesus, while hanging on the cross, reached out to God, in the words of King David in Psalm 22 (see below). In summary, it says: although everything looks extremely bad, the truth is that I have succeeded and I will rule over all nations. I have successfully completed everything that had to be done. "I have done it".

Psalm 22
1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?  Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?  2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer; by night, but I find no rest. ...
6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people. 7 All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. 8 “He trusts in the Lord,” they say, “let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.” 9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast. 10 From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God. 11 Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help. ...
16 Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. 17 All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. 18 They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment. ...
24 For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.  ...
27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, 28 for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations. 29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him— those who cannot keep themselves alive. 30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. 31 They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn, He has done it!

"It is finished.", "it is paid in full."  (John 19:30) NOTE: the Greek word translated “it is finished” is tetelestai, an accounting term that means “paid in full.”
"I make all things new."  (Revelation 21:5)
