Getting To Know HIM

GETTING TO KNOW HIM

Psalm 147:12-20
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!
13 For he strengthens the bars of your gates;
he blesses your children within you.
14 He grants peace within your borders;
he fills you with the finest of wheat.
15 He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
16 He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes. 17 He hurls down hail like crumbs— who can stand before his cold? 18 He sends out his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow, and the waters flow. 19 He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and ordinances to Israel. 20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his ordinances. Praise the Lord!

How do I Praise the Lord?
A definition of praise is the joyful thanking, honoring, worshiping and adoring of God, celebrating His majesty, goodness, grace and evidence of what He has done in your life. Praising God is getting to know God and acknowledging that you and your prayer requests are in good hands. Praise is what all the angels and souls do in heaven. This is what we are going to do for eternity when we reach heaven. When we praise God He gives us more and more reasons to praise Him.

How does God protect you?
God’s Divine protection is essential. “He assigns angels to protect you wherever you go”. His priority is the spiritual side of your life where you desperately need to be protected from the enemy. The enemy wants to trap you and make you a prisoner of your sins. He will pull you away from God and he will steal your joy, peace and blessings. The enemy’s greatest weapon is your complacency and not recognizing that we need to resist his constant lies and his temptations with the help of Christ.

What is the Peace of the Lord?
The Holy Spirit fills you with joy and peace that allows you to trust and hope in God. “This peace of mind transcends all understanding”, you are freed from worry and fear and you to yield to God’s will in your life without knowing what is going to happen to you next. You should constantly remind yourself of what God has done in your past and how He has helped you through some very difficult situations.

How do we get to know God?
Getting to know God goes beyond intellectual awareness (“even the demons know God”). It is more than facts, it is “TRUTH which will set you free”. You need to know Him in your heart, love Him and always turn to Him with unshakable trust. It is also accepting His greatest love gift, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You need to get to know His ways and the principles of Life in His Kingdom. Your knowledge of God will continue to grow every day. If you do not know God, you are at risk. You are at the mercy of the enemy and this world. You will not have the fullness of God’s love, His grace, His blessings and His protection.

Why risk it? Get to know God and start to praise Him now!
