Prisoner of Christ

DOES GOD CHOOSE US or DO WE CHOOSE GOD?

Guilt, sin & more                vs            New way of life
Try harder                           vs            Abide in Christ
Learn who you are             vs            Learn Who Christ is

Grace comes from the Greek word 'charis', which in the Biblical context is defined as “the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues.”

"The law came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ" (John 1:17).

We are trapped in sin... Prisoners of sin ... Old man is subject to law (Romans 3:19)

Grace ... the life of Christ ... Live by the leading of the Spirit ...
God relates to you on what Jesus has done ... You are free to the law

Without Christ we cannot fulfill the law, Let Jesus flow into your life, Jesus lives through us (Romans 10:4)

The law kills but grace gives life (2 Corinthians 3:6)

Make sure that you read the Old Testament knowing that Jesus has fulfilled the law.

Nothing + Christ = Everything
Grace is Jesus personified
Grace discourages sin
Grace sets you free from sin ... it does not entitle you to sin (Titus 2:11)
It is no longer me but Christ in me
You either walk in grace or in disgrace
If you commit sin, you walk in DISGRACE.

Eph 2:6-7. Eph 3:18, Rom 5:2

The Pure Grace of God ... Based on Christ not on you ... A fulfilled life.

Peter said, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Believing in Jesus means believing He was the Son sent by the Father to die for the sins of the people. He was both Lord and Christ.

Made Alive in Christ
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
