The Word of God In Your Life - Living a Full Life

The Word of God In Your Life ... Living Life to it’s Fullest
Jesus said: “The enemy comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that you may have life and live it to it’s fullest.”  John 10:10

Luke 14:25-33 ... The Cost of Being a Disciple
Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, then He turned to them saying: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
“Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.
Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  Matthew 10:34

NEW CONSTRUCTION
Surrendering to Jesus is an “all or nothing” move. The Lord MUST be first in our lives. We must realize the importance of loyalty and allegiance to Jesus over all other competing loyalties, including family, friends, self-interest and possessions.

Through Grace, God reveals Himself to us. We are stimulated to learn more about His Word, we are guided by the Holy Spirit to accept Christ as our Savior. Before we start to build a new foundation and framework for the new structure, we discover that we have to go through a demolition phase and destroy many old habits, “old” ways of thinking, old traditions ... we can no longer conform to the ways of this world.
This is very difficult and, as a result, many of us will put the construction “on hold”. It takes a lot of demolition and new construction to be the person God wants us to be.
As we go through life, we see the empty frameworks of new construction sites that had a lot of promise and we wonder if the owner will ever return to complete the work that was started by the Lord.

FACING THE ENEMY

Being “On the Fence” is not an option. Jesus says in Revelations, “Be hot or be cold because if you are lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth!”

Jesus wants to be first in your heart. He does not want you to pick and choose what you want to believe in. He wants you to constantly and consistently embrace His Word. He does not want you to negotiate or compromise what He says. Do not strive to always be “politically correct”.

Compromising Is NOT the best approach? We have to be that adamant about God’s direction in our life. We must pray to know when to speak out and when to hold back. We should not be driven by always being “politically correct”. Jesus says if we follow Him, we must be prepared and ready to defend Him.

When you start a new life in God’s Kingdom, you are immediately confronted by friends, family and society who think you are going too far in this “Christian thing”. Are you ready to confront this overwhelming opposition?

THE LIVING WORD OF GOD

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-10

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Mark 8:34

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. 1John2:15

Do you not know that friendship with the world is a conflict with God? Whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.  1John2:15

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. Col 2:8

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was GodHe was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. ... The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. ... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth... For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.  John 1

He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him The Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the FatherPhilippians 2

Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to meGo therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.”  Matthew 28:18-20
