Successful Prayer

Successful Prayer

"The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." (James 5:16)

When we pray, always pray in the Name of Jesus and please consider this approach:

1. Short-term Level:
Pray for the situation-at-hand that needs to be addressed and resolved. Believe and trust in the Lord. Surrender your free will and choose to place the entire situation in God's hands asking Him to intervene, to protect and to resolve. Come before the Father, in the Name of Jesus, and be led by the Holy Spirit, as you see God in action and as you take authority and subdue those things that are not aligned with God’s will. Stand back with Jesus and observe the enemy at work. In the Name of Jesus, command the any presence of the enemy to depart and to never return. Apply the resolution that Jesus paid for when He suffered and died for us.

Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:13)

2. Long-term Level:
Plant seeds of faith, hope and love in those involved. Tell them about God's love, what Jesus did for them and about the loving guidance of the Holy Spirit. Show them how to accept Christ as their Savior and about living in the Kingdom of God. Share God's love with them. Always keep them in your prayers and check up or meet with them on a weekly basis. Give them a Daily Devotional to keep them in contact with the Lord and His Word. Provide them with a Bible if they do not have one. Point out the promises of God.

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22)

3. Eternal Level:
Pray for those involved to be able to confess their weaknesses to Christ, to determine the "Root" Cause(s) and to be forgiven and set free from their prisons and to be renewed, replanted and reconnected to the life-giving Vine of Jesus for eternity. Pray that they will come to know God, discern His Will, start to produce the fruit of the Spirit and start to use their spiritual gifts. Pray that they will share God's love and bring others to His Kingdom. Continue to meet with them on a periodic basis.

Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours."  (Mark 11:24)
