Trust and Believe
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean
not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall
direct your paths." Proverbs
3:5-6
Are you in a situation that
seems hopeless? You have prayed so much and, as a last resort, you have finally
decided to hand it over completely to God. It wasn't easy prying your fingers
loose but you are now filled with hope. You have total faith and trust in Our
Father who loves you and wants the best for you. You are sure that your hopes
will be realized. You have complete confidence in your heart for those things
that seem humanly impossible.
Now you are in a waiting
phase. You are loosing your patience. It is taking a very long time to get a
resolution and things seem to be getting worse and more complicated. You start
to doubt whether God is really in control or if He really cares. You fear that
the situation will end up being a major disaster. You don't know what to do.
You don't know where to turn. Help! You start to take back control of the
situation from God. You start to loose confidence in God. You start to fear and
loose faith and to loose hope.
All your eyes see is
darkness but your heart senses a small light in the distance. Please focus on
that tiny glimmer of light ... DO NOT let it disappear. God is quietly telling
you to please wait and hang on. Trust that God is working diligently behind the
scenes. Know that there are many complex pieces to this puzzle and that there
are a multitude of people involved who do not choose to follow His perfect
will. God must work around them in order to not impact their free will. To us
it seems very slow but He is working as fast as possible.
Somehow, somewhere, you end
up reading a verse in the Bible, or you hear from a fellow Christian, or you
listen to lyrics in a Christian song or you hear a sermon telling you to 'hang
on', to be patient, to "be still", to wait on God, 'to expect the
unexpected'. You open your heart, you regain your faith and you start to
believe that the solution is coming.
As things worsen, all of the
sudden, something unexpected happens … you are suddenly surprised. You get a
phone call, or you get a letter, or a text, or an email telling you about
something unbelievable that has just happened. You are shocked. You can't
believe what has just happened. You may not fully understand but you can't stop
smiling. You jump for joy. You hug everyone around you. Every other word from
your mouth, every other thought is "Thank you Lord, thank you, thank
you." You start to pray by asking God to forgive you for doubting, for
being so impatient, for losing trust in Him, for forgetting the multitude of
times in the past where He has bailed you out, protected you, or saved someone
else on your behalf. You have witnessed 'God in Action'. You can only say,
"God is Good, I don't deserve His love." God has come through for you
again.
Let’s review: When Christ died for you, He 'reserved'
a seat in the throne room just for you, so you could be in God's presence.
Please close your eyes and go there now and have a seat, hold your loving
Father's hand, tell Him how much you love Him, tell Him how grateful you are
for everything He has done for you, tell Him that you are not worthy to be in
His presence, ask Him to forgive you for the times in your life that you made
the wrong choices, tell Him your problems ... please feel free to unload and
cry. You will finally begin to understand how much He really cares for you, how
He wants you 'just the way you are', how much He wants to help you, how
important it is for Him to resolve your problems and how happy He is that you
have returned to your spiritual home into His embrace. You are His child and He
will never let you go. He is always there for you ... 24x7.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in
everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known to God." Philippians 4:6
