PSALM 138
Written by
King David
1
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your
praise.
2
I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your
unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn
decree that it surpasses your fame.
3
When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.
4
May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord, when they hear what you have
decreed.
5
May they sing of the ways of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord is great.
6
Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees
them from afar.
7
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out
your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.
8
The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever - do not abandon
the works of your hands.
Verses 1-5
… David is praising God for answering his prayers.
We praise God with our whole heart by telling the whole
world how grateful and how happy we are. Those who ask and wait for God's love
in the name of Jesus will see how faithful God is to His promises. God will
bless us abundantly and exceedingly. We will definitely be thankful because God
gives us the strength to deal with our problems, to resist temptations and to
survive in this imperfect world. He gives us strength to fully trust in Him and
to have patience and wait for the best answers to our prayers.
In your
life, when have you seen God in action?
Do you
live in the Kingdom of God?
Verses 6-8
… David describes that there is no distance between us and
God. You will never get a 'busy signal' when you call God. The creator of our
universe and beyond is always there for us 24X7.
God's love and grace always surrounds us specially when we
are filled with troubles. God will save His children from their enemies. If we
glorify God because of His blessings, we will be filled with His comfort.
Having confidence in God will convince us to always pray. When we accept Christ
as our Savior, we are innocent in God's eyes. We are inheritors to His kingdom.
Is
it that easy? To
receive God’s unmerited forgiveness and generous blessings, we just have to
love and trust God above all things, believe that Jesus suffered and died for
our sins, open our hearts to God’s forgiveness and share His amazing love with
others. We need Jesus.
