Why Pray If God Knows Everything?
WHAT IS PRAYER?
a solemn request for help or expression of thanks
addressed to God.
Prayer is . . .
·
an acknowledgement that there is a supernatural God
·
an awareness that we cannot survive alone
·
the wisdom that we are nothing without God
·
an unshakable trust in a loving God
·
an understanding that God really cares for us
·
the faith that God hears us and wants the best for us
·
the expectation for some action or resolution to take
place
·
the surrender of our free will to God’s will
·
being in the presence of Our Father and speaking with
Him
·
an opportunity to praise & worship, joyfully
thank and humbly request
WHY SHOULD WE PRAY?
Some initial questions and concepts:
Do we
really believe in God?
If yes, then we no longer live a natural existence.
Instead, we live a supernatural life.
We must be prepared for miracles to happen.
He will do exceedingly, abundantly far above all we could ever ask or
think.
Why do we
have to pray?
If God already knows our requests, then why do we have to
pray?
Prayer is a way of using our Free Will to choose God’s will.
Prayer releases the Will of God in our lives.
Prayer shows that we trust in God, that we have Faith in
God.
"Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven"
Why should
we choose God to answer our prayers?
God knows the past, present and future
God knows the inner thoughts of every person
God has access to every resource in the universe and beyond
(miracles)
God loves us more than we can ever imagine
God is aware of every possible option
God wants the BEST for us,
God is always for us (who can possibly be against us?)
“All things work out for good for those who love God.”
Does God
always answer our prayers?
No prayers are ever ignored by God
God always hears all of our prayers
God starts immediately to resolve (movement of chess pieces)
We must be patient and trust that our prayer request is in
good hands
God’s resolution is not always our resolution but it is the
best resolution
We must trust that God’s resolution is the best
“God’s ways are not our ways.”
Why does
it take so long to get an answer?
What gets
in the way? What causes delays?
The free will of others who are involved but do not choose God's will.
The proper timing is essential.
Many complex moving parts and many prerequisite and
corequisite events
Some resolutions are quick and some will take some time … we
must be patient.
Some prayer requests involve the spiritual world.
We must be bold and strong
We will be more than conquerors.
We will fly on wings of eagles.
Pray for at least 30 minutes every day.
If you don't have 30 min to pray, then pray for one hour.
