 On the Winning Team
Isaiah 25:1-9

1 O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. 2 You have made the city a heap of rubble, the fortified town a ruin, the foreigners' stronghold a city no more; it will never be rebuilt. 3 Therefore strong peoples will honor you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you. 4 You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall 5 and like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled. 6 On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine-- the best of meats and the finest of wines. 7 On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; 8 he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. 9 In that day they will say, "Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."

I have great news! I have read the last few pages of the Bible and there is a happy ending. I have seen the final score. We are definitely on the winning team. We are champions!

The Owner of our championship team is the one true God. All other teams trying to defeat us do not stand a chance. God really cares for His team members and wants us to excel on the field. He provides everything we need to be winners. He wants us to enjoy being a member of His team and to be totally happy. He will do everything possible for us to be successful.

Our Manager is Jesus Christ, our Savior. He is the perfect example of how to participate as a member of the winning team. He demonstrates how to defend against our opponents and how to be on the offensive to help turn the rest of our team into winners. He is the best teacher showing us how to use good teamwork to win. He is always on our side showing us how to cooperate, how to listen, how to be patient and how to be the perfect team player. We must involve Jesus in everything we do to be successful.

Our Coach is the Holy Spirit who guides us and directs us to make the best moves at the right time. Every game and every situation is unique and at times very complex but we get the best guidance and direction from the perfect coach. He leads us to be like our manager.

We have nothing to worry about. If we believe, trust and obey our owner, manager and coach then there is no question that we are on the Winning Team.
